Beautiful fine 19th century embroidered cap - damaged
This piece of embroidery has been done by hand on a very fine cotton ground and was originally a coif-cap. It dates from the late 19th century and comes from the Touraine. condition. The embroidery is perfect but the fine cotton cap is damaged in places - the embroidery could be reused or framed. The central part of the cap measures approximately 21cm in diameter and there is another embroidery motif on what would have been the front of the cap.
