1910's cotton petticoat
This is a fab petticoat, and I don't come across pieces like this very often. The cotton looks like it has been printed, but actually the pattern is woven into the fabric. A flat shaped front with a drawstring back, and a double ruffle - the second ruffle is not visible but it is there and was made to help the overskirt stand out from the body. This is in very good condition - there are a couple of small tears, which I have photographed - there is no loss and these have all been caused by the skirt catching on something - they are easy fixes. There is also two small visible repairs, also photographed. This measures 42cm at the waist lying flat and ungathered, so a maximum waist size of 84cm.
