19th century handwoven linen vendange tablecloth - extra long

€90.00
Sold

This is a handspun and handwoven linen vineyard tablecloth with the characteristic raised weft stripes at each end of the cloth. The hems at either end are beautifully and delicately handrolled, and there is a pair of red cross-stitched initials ‘VC’ in one corner. This is in very good condition. There are a couple of very tiny marks - I have photographed one in the last photograph with the measuring tape for scale. This is an unusually long example of these types of cloths, measuring 111cm wide by 283cm long.
