{2E} Hanks of early 20th century pure linen lacemaking thread

€8.00

These hanks date from somewhere between 1910-1950 - it’s hard to date them as up until just after World War 2 nothing much changed in terms of packaging. I think they are 20’s or 30’s. These are unbleached pure linen thread, still with some of the stalk waste in, which gives them an interesting and slightly rustic texture - they would have been used to make bobbin lace. Each hank is 20 metres long - they were packaged in lots of 12 and then sold on individually. If you want a whole lot of 12 please ask, as I have several still bundled up, but the price given here is per hank of 20 metres.
