Exceptional 19th century handwoven linen shirt initials FB
This shirt has been made from quite a lightweight handwoven linen, but what is very special about this particular shirt is the level of care and detail in the making. It has a cotton collar and self cuffs, with milk glass buttons. The buttonholes have all been beautifully handmade and reinforced, the cuffs have been double stitched, the sleeve openings have been overstitched in tiny careful button-stitch to reinforce them. Everything is precise and beautifully done, and the shirt is in perfect condition with no wear. Measurements are given lying flat. It measures 61cm from armpit to armpit, 57cm from the shoulder seam to the edge of the sleeve cuff along the top of the sleeve, 50cm from shoulder seam to seam across the back of the neck, and 26cm at the point where the sleeve joins the shoulder including the armpit gusset.
