Pair of 19th century handspun and handwoven hemp teatowels - diamond weave #2 initials MN
These are beautiful examples of handspun and handwoven hemp teatowels, and I have never found any hemp teatowels in this diamond weave. They may have originated from further south, near Toulouse, but who knows! Gorgeous quality, thick, soft handwoven hemp, with hand-stitched hems. They both have cross-stitched initials MN in one corner. They have been soaked and washed. They are two slightly different sized, one measures 65cm wide by 86cm long and the other one is 65×98cm. These are now super hard to find.
