Vintage cotton flannel deadstock - sold per metre
This is beautiful fabric, a quite fine twill-woven pure cotton - one side the satin face of the twill weave, the other side a soft cotton flannel of a kind that simply isn’t available these days. The photos are much less interesting than the fabric! This is probably 1930’s-1950’s, and it would have been used to make women’s winter underwear, petticoats and slips, or to make a baby’s layette - clothing and bedding.
The fabric itself is in excellent condition. There are storage marks running across the width of the fabric at regular intervals - in my experience these will come out with a good soak. This fabric will also take natural dyes beautifully. It is 78cm wide and I am selling it per metre - I am not sure how many metres there are as it is in a a double-folded roll and a bit tricky to unroll and reroll - let me know how many metres you’d like and I will let you know if it is possible.
